I Kill Giants

To those fighting their own giants, you’re stronger than you think.

Barbara Thorson is your new hero. A quick-witted, sharp- tongued middle-schooler who isn’t afraid of anything. As the only girl in school carrying an ancient Norse warhammer in her purse and killing giants for a living, why wouldn’t she be? I Kill Giants is the sweeping, bittersweet story of a young girl struggling to conquer monsters both real and imagined as her world crumbles at the feet of giants bigger than any one child can handle. Based on the best-selling graphic novel by Joe Kelly.

I Kill Giants is Anders Walter’s first feature film. He has written and directed a couple of short films including Katusha (2014), the Oscar® winning Helium (2013), and the critically claimed 9 meter (2012).

The original graphic novel was first published back in 2009, written by Joe Kelly with art and design by J.M. Ken Niimura.

Potterheads might recognize several names such as Michael Barnathan (producer), Chris Columbus (producer), and Mark Radcliffe (executive producer), all of whom also produced some of the first Harry Potter films.

Original music was done by Laurent Perez Del Mar, who also composed the music for The Red Turtle (2016), the Oscar® nominated animated feature film.

Cinematographer Rasmus Heise, who has worked with Walter on his previous short films, was the director of photography; while Lars Wissing, another recurring crew member, was once again film editor.
