Ridley Scott returns to his universe to continue his tale about the origin of the most horrific space creature. Alien: Covenant is set 10 years after the events of Prometheus. This time, the crew is on a journey to a distant solar system with the objective of colonizing a planet an ensure the survival of the human race. Their mission is compromised by an unexpected solar event. A message of human origins is intercepted, revealing the location of a previously unknown system. The crew must decide whether to continue on their path or to explore this intriguing planet, with the hope of establishing the foundations of a new civilization.
The film explores the topic of creation. In the first scene we see David, an intelligent artificial being, interacting with its creator. This is the story of how a creation becomes a creator.
