The Dark Tower (Review)

I can only say that I really liked the film, mainly because it’s the kind of story that I love.

I wish I had read Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series when I was younger. I remember my dad used to say it was really good. I think he would’ve loved this movie. I know I did. The first thing I did after watching it was to go into my home library and see if by any chance I had at least one of my dad’s old books. I took my flashlight, opened the door, and walked carefully across the dark and silent room. After struggling to move a few things that were on the way and trying to reach the end of the Stephen King section of the bookcase, I found it. There it was, The Gunslinger! I was so happy and excited to see this book again. I immediately started reading it.

I haven’t watched or read any reviews about the movie yet. The only thing I’ve noticed is that there has been some controversy about the adaptation. Since I haven’t finished the book, I can only say that I really liked the film, mainly because it’s the kind of story that I love. Almost as epic as The Lord of the Rings (although, the whole universe is at stake here!). A little bit of fantasy and science fiction mixed together, sprinkled with some western elements. It also has great actors and the photography is amazing. What else could you ask for?
